PADANG, THE PLACE WHERE I HAVE GROWN UP
OK,I will tell you about my hometown. Padang is my hometown. It is a capital city of West Sumatera. It is located on the west coast of Sumatra Island, with total area of the city of Padang is 694.96 km ², equivalent to 1.65% of the area of West Sumatra province. It is just about an hour from Pariaman and one an half hour from Bukittinggi. I live in Padang since I was born on December 24th ,1991. I live at Bahari Street 24, Ulak Karang. My home really close to the beach. It just about 250 meters.
Padang city really famous with the legend of Siti Nurbaya and Malin Kundang. Now, it is clean up in direction of development of tourism. Beside that,there are so many tourism objects such as: Adityawarman Museum, Air Manih Beach, Padang Beach, and Imam Bonjol Park.I will explain them all for you.
The first one is Adityawarman Museum. It is located at Diponegoro Street 10. It just about twenty minutes from Air Tawar by public transportation. The museum specializes in history and culture of Minangkabau, Mentawai, and Nias tribe. The collections of the museum are saving in a traditional house, it is called Rumah Gadang Minangkabau. In front of the museum, there are two barns. Then, combined with a miniature cart, gig, and the remnants of World War II.
Museum Adityawarman di Padang
The second one is Aia Manih Beach. It is become a favorite tourism object in Padang city now. The beach is located in the South of Padang District. It can be reached by land route approximately thirty minutes from downtown. The beach also is famous with the Legend of Malin Kundang. According to folklore, Malin Kundang and his ship was curse into stone because he rebellious with his mother. Beside that, young people are also use the beach as a place for camp and surfers use it for surfing too because it has good waves.
Air Manih Beach
The third one is Padang Beach. It is on the West District of Padang city. It is so easy to reach from Padang Square Park, which is the center of Padang city by walking. From along Batang Harau there is a bridge called Siti Nurbaya Bridge. The bridge connects to a hill region, alo known as Mount Padang. At Padang Beach you can relax, enjoy the beautiful beach view, the sunset, etc. Then, you can do some exercises such as jogging, swimming at the beach, beach football, and others. Along the Padang Beach there are so many facilities such as hotels, restaurants, public toilets, mosque, and any bake foods.

The last one is Imam Bonjol Park. It is in front of the City Hall of Padang. It just about fifteen minutes by public transportation. There is a football field. It sometimes use for do exercise, concert, and campaign. There are also sell various food such ac meatball, chicken noddles, siomay, and many others. The cost of the food not really expensive. It just about Rp.7.000-Rp.10.000. It is a good place for family but you can go there with your friends or your couple too.
Imam Bonjol Park
Besides, the city also famous with the cuisine. This food popular to foreign countries also. The popular food such as: Gulai, Rendang, Sate Padang, Kerupuk Sanjai, etc.
Rendang Padang
Moreover, it has many shopping center also such as: Plaza Andalas, Basko Grand Mall, and traditional market. There are sell various things ; food, fruits, shirts, skirts, T-shirts, jeans, etc.
If you curios with the city,just come. You will find many interesting places there. Believe me.It is really beautiful city. I love it.
