PADANG, THE PLACE WHERE I HAVE GROWN UP

OK,I will tell you about my hometown. Padang is my hometown. It is a capital city of West Sumatera. It is located on the west coast of Sumatra Island, with total area of the city of Padang is 694.96 km ², equivalent to 1.65% of the area of West Sumatra province. It is just about an hour from Pariaman and one an half hour from Bukittinggi. I live in Padang since I was born on December 24^th ,1991. I live at Bahari Street 24, Ulak Karang. My home really close to the beach. It just about 250 meters.

Padang city really famous with the legend of Siti Nurbaya and Malin Kundang. Now, it is clean up in direction of development of tourism. Beside that,there are so many tourism objects such as: Adityawarman Museum, Air Manih Beach, Padang Beach, and Imam Bonjol Park.I will explain them all for you.

The first one is Adityawarman Museum. It is located at Diponegoro Street 10. It just about twenty minutes from Air Tawar by public transportation. The museum specializes in history and culture of Minangkabau, Mentawai, and Nias tribe. The collections of the museum are saving in a traditional house, it is called Rumah Gadang Minangkabau. In front of the museum, there are two barns. Then, combined with a miniature cart, gig, and the remnants of World War II.

The second one is Aia Manih Beach. It is become a favorite tourism object in Padang city now. The beach is located in the South of Padang District. It can be reached by land route approximately thirty minutes from downtown. The beach also is famous with the Legend of Malin Kundang. According to folklore, Malin Kundang and his ship was curse into stone because he rebellious with his mother. Beside that, young people are also use the beach as a place for camp and surfers use it for surfing too because it has good waves.

The third one is Padang Beach. It is on the West District of Padang city. It is so easy to reach from Padang Square Park, which is the center of Padang city by walking. From along Batang Harau there is a bridge called Siti Nurbaya Bridge. The bridge connects to a hill region, alo known as Mount Padang. At Padang Beach you can relax, enjoy the beautiful beach view, the sunset, etc. Then, you can do some exercises such as jogging, swimming at the beach, beach football, and others. Along the Padang Beach there are so many facilities such as hotels, restaurants, public toilets, mosque, and any bake foods.

The last one is Imam Bonjol Park. It is in front of the City Hall of Padang. It just about fifteen minutes by public transportation. There is a football field. It sometimes use for do exercise, concert, and campaign. There are also sell various food such ac meatball, chicken noddles, siomay, and many others. The cost of the food not really expensive. It just about Rp.7.000-Rp.10.000. It is a good place for family but you can go there with your friends or your couple too.

Besides, the city also famous with the cuisine. This food popular to foreign countries also. The popular food such as:  Gulai, Rendang, Sate Padang, Kerupuk Sanjai, etc.

Moreover, it has many shopping center also such as: Plaza Andalas, Basko Grand Mall, and traditional market. There are sell various things ; food, fruits, shirts, skirts, T-shirts, jeans, etc.

Vacationing at Home or at Outside City

                   Holiday is coming soon. Everyone has a plane for their holiday. They try to choose the right place for spend their holiday. We do not want a bad holiday, do we? Everyone likes to spend their holiday at outside city than just stay at home. In this essay I will tell you about the advantages and disadvantages vacation at home or at outside city.

                  First, let us talk about vacation at home. Vacation at home sometimes really bored. We just stay at home and nothing special to do. Talk about the disadvantages first. Vacation at home we do the same activities such as watching TV or movie, has a barbecue party maybe and cleaning the house. Then, you cannot increase your experiences. But talk about the advantages, vacation at home you will not spend much money. Then, we can gather with all of our family. We can laugh together without afraid about the cost.

                 Second, let us talk about the advantages vacation at outside city. Vacation at outside city you can increase you experiences or you knowledge. Then, you can take a picture or visit interesting places there. But talk about the disadvantages, vacation at outside city you must prepare much money than vacation at home. There you pay for hotels or food. I think you must bring much money.

               That is all about my opinion in vacation at home and vacation at outside city. According to me, vacation at home better than vacation at outside city. You should think first what the right place for you to spend your holiday or you will regret after that.

THIS IS ME

            Hi, I am Dewi Putri Rahmayani. Everyone calls me Dewi or Mery. I was born in Padang on December 24^th, 1991. I am 19 years old.  I  lives at Bahari Street 24, Ulak Karang. I live there with my parents.

            I have a tan skin. Then, I am in medium height and weight. It is around 165 centimeters tall and 50 kilograms weight. I have brown eyes and a flat nose. I think I am good-looking and fashionable also.

            I have a big family. I have three brothers and three sisters. My oldest and my middle sisters had marry. My second sister, Lisa,  is in Batam now. She is working in one of a company. My third brother, Hendra, is in here. He is working in a traditional market. Then, my fourth sister, Nelvi,  is in here also but not in Ulak Karang. She lives in Komp. Bungo Mas, By Pass. She is a nurse in RSUP M. Djamil, Padang. Next, my fifth brother, Riki, is in Jakarta. He is working in bank. My last brother, Dian, is in Jakarta also. He is a student in UIN Syarif Hidayatullah. He is studying Math. The last one is me. I am studying at State University of Padang. I am studying English literature. I am in second semester now.

            My hobby is watching TV. I always spend my free time in front of TV. I usually watch TV until midnight. I like listening to the music also. Sometimes, I am singing when I am taking a bath. I think my voice is not too bad. I can sing very well. It does not make your ears hurt actually. You will excited when you hear my voice.

            I am a shy girl. I always feel nervous when I am talking with someone that I just know. I do not know why actually. Besides, I am a good girl also. I like helping my friends. Sometimes they are utilized it for their personal interests. As you know I really hate that person.

            I think that is all about me. I hope you want to make a friend with me after you know my personality. Once more, do not judge someone by the cover.

ONE OF THE HANDSOME BOYS IN THE WORLD

Hi, I will tell you about my idol. I have some idols actually but I will tell you one of  them. David James Archuleta is my idol or we known by David Archuleta. He was born on December 28, 1991 in Miami, Florida. He is twenty years old. He is a son from Jeff Archuleta, a jazz musician and Lupe Marie Archuleta, a dancer and singer from Honduras. He is one of  American Idol 7^th season finalist and he could win as a runner-up there.

David Archuleta has four siblings. They are Claudia (18), Daniel (14), Jazzy (11), and Amber (9). When he was six years, he and his family moved to Salt Lake Valley, Sandy, Utah. Now, he and his family live in Murray, Utah.

He began singing when he was six years old after he watched a video of the musical Miserables. When he was ten years, David sang for the first time in front of the public. He followed the singing competition of Utah and sang a song “I Will Always Love You” by Dolly Parton. He got a good response from the audiences and he won the Category of Children. Now, he is in beneath Jive Labels.

David has a cute face with a pointed nose and brown eyes. He has a good smile also. Besides, he has a light skin and short black hair. He is pretty tall. It is around 170 cm tall. He is in medium weight also. 

A boy who has a cute face, has some hobbies. He really likes singing. That is absolutely because he is a singer. He likes reading a book also. I think he is a smart boy. I really respect with someone who loves reading a book. That is all I know about his hobbies.

In the future, I want to be a good person like David, even for me or for someone else. Although he is famous, he never forgot with his family. He is always friendly, easygoing, and modestly.
